Boje Lila Prokupac from Vino Budimir has a deep, dark ruby red color. Complex aromas of blackberries, plums, cherries and vanilla. On the palate an even greater complexity of black and red fruits, chocolate, coffee and a light touch of spices. A velvety wine from very old vines (100-130 years old) from one vineyard.
Vino Budimir “Prokupac boje Lila” is the main wine of Vino Budimir, because this wine made the winery's greatest wish come true. First in Serbia, this is a wine bottled from 100% prokupac, from the only remaining vineyard with vines that are all over 100 years old.
Ever since it was decided to expand the small, old family cellar with a contemporary and striking winery, the desire to make this wine has been central to the winery. Deda Buda (Grandpa Budimir Zdravkovic) has always taken good care of the vineyard. The sticks there are in fact the only remaining authentic prokupac sticks that are still planted in Zupa, the native region of the prokupac.
Prokupac boje Lila is the wine that reflects Zupa: the prokupac grape and its potential, the climate, the soil and the knowledge of Deda Buda. It carries within it the wisdom and secret nature of the region, something that can only be told through more than 100-year-old canes of the prokupac grape.
Grape variety: Very old native blue grape. The best prokupac wines come from vines that are at least 70 years old. These give dark wines with firm tannins, black and red fruits, spices and chocolate. Wood-aged prokupac wines can be imposed for a long time.
Serving tip: This wine is best served with dishes of red meat, cheeses and dark chocolates. We advise you to serve this wine at a temperature between 16 ° and 18 ° C. This wine is not filtered before bottling!
Winery: At the heart of the Zapadnomoravski wine region, more specifically in Zupa, the oldest wine-growing region in Serbia, are a number of small and medium-sized family wineries, concentrated around the town of Aleksandrovac.
Vino Budimir, from Aleksandrovac, started again as an independent winery at the beginning of this century. (After years of working for the major state cooperatives in the communist era.)
