Rogac Mljeveni, Gemalen Johannesbrood

Johannesbrood is een wilde boom of struik uit de familie van de Peulvruchten die groeit in het warme mediterrane klimaat.

Het werd in het Oude Egypte als zoetstof gebruikt en wordt tegenwoordig gebruikt als vervanging voor koffie en cacao en als vulling voor cake en bagel. Wat johannesbrood zo speciaal maakt, is de gelijkenis met chocolade, maar het is veel gezonder.

Johannesbroodpitten kunnen worden gegeten als tussendoortje, de hele pod kan inderdaad op dezelfde manier worden gebruikt dankzij de zoete smaak.

Ground Carob

Carob is a wild tree or bush from the Legume family that grows in the warm Mediterranean climate.

It was used in Ancient Egypt as a sweetener and today it is used as a substitute for coffee and cocoa and as a cake and bagel filling. What makes carob so special is its similarity to chocolate, but it is much healthier.

Carob seeds can be eaten as snacks, indeed the entire pod can be used in the same manner thanks to its sweet flavour.

Rogač mljeveni, PEKARSKI PROGRAM

Rogač je samoniklo drvo ili grm iz porodice mahunarki koje uspijeva u toploj mediteranskoj klimi.

Rogač se upotrebljavao još u starom Egiptu kao zaslađivač, a danas se koristi kao zamjena za kavu i kakao te kao nadjev za kolače i pecivo. Ono što rogač čini posebnim je njegova sličnost s čokoladom a znatno je zdraviji od same čokolade.

Sjemenke rogača mogu se konzumirati kao grickalice, a zbog svog slatkog okusa može se na isti način konzumirati i cijela mahuna.
